How Does the Technology Work?

PhotoFractional blends two powerful technologies – Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and ResurFX – to produce comprehensive skin rejuvenation benefits. Over a series of sessions, the technology can restore a smoother, clearer and more youthful appearance.

First, IPL is performed to remove pigmentation, age spots and sun spots. Then, the ResurFX laser is used on the skin to stimulate collagen production, minimize fine lines and wrinkles, and even out your skin tone and texture.

The Results

PhotoFractional treatments work deep beneath the surface of your skin to stimulate collagen production over a series of several sessions. Though you may see an improvement after just one appointment, most of our patients need multiple visits spaced one month apart for optimal results. The results will continue to progress for six months after your final treatment as your body completes the process of producing fresh collagen.

What to Expect During the Procedure

Your PhotoFractional treatments will be done in the privacy of our medical spa. A typical treatment takes roughly 45 minutes, depending on the area being targeted. To begin, a topical anesthetic numbing cream will be applied to ensure your comfort. At the very most, our clients report a mild stinging sensation. After treatment, you will return home immediately. You may notice some redness and swelling, but these effects should dissipate within a few days.

You will probably feel comfortable returning to work within a day or two, but it’s important to protect your skin from the sun as you will be more sensitive than usual.
