I started my career as a Registered Nurse, BSN, in 1980 while working in the operating room at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. I spent the next 14 years working throughout the United States as a surgical nurse in the O.R. (both scrubbing and circulating) due to my husband’s consistent job relocations. In 1994 we moved to Kansas City where I transitioned to aesthetic nursing and spent the next 13 years as a private scrub nurse working alongside internationally recognized surgeon, Dr. Ted Lockwood. During this time I continued to broaden my love for aesthetics and obtained my aestheticians license and began training as a Nurse Injector.
I was able to bring my aesthetic vision to use by restoring and enhancing patients natural beauty with neurotoxins (such as Botox and Dysport) and dermal fillers. After relocating to Arizona in 2015 I joined Dr. Shapiro’s practice where I worked as his private surgical nurse and in 2018 became a full time Nurse Injector. During my time at Dr. Shapiro’s office I have continued to build my education and have added Sculptra, Threadlifts, PRP for hair growth, Coolsculpting and Votiva to my professional repertoire.
I proudly hold a CANS (Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist) certification, I am a member if IAN (International Association of Nursing) and enjoy continuing my education to stay up to date on the exciting and ever changing aesthetic industry!
