Patient is an 18 year-old male with history of crooked nose with a large dorsal hump that makes him feel self-conscious about his appearance.  He would also like to address his nasal tip that droops when he smiles.  He has difficulty breathing out the left side of his nose, and would like to breathe more easily.  He desires a nose that appears more handsome and better compliments his facial features.

Procedure:  Septorhinoplasty with straightening of septal deviation, reduction of dorsal hump and upward rotation of nasal tip.  Internal cartilage grafts were placed to best assure long-term maintenance of new nasal shape.  Photos are 2 months after surgery and he is extremely happy with his surgical result.

Patient is a 36-year-old male who is one of the Mayo Clinic Plastic Surgery Residents. He desired a straighter and more defined nose, with a less bulbous tip. He is 6’3” tall, so he expressed not wanting an overly-reduced nose that would appear unnatural and feminine. He brought in photos of noses that he felt were handsome, and this information combined with the results of his imaged pre-operative nasal photographs were utilized to devise an operative plan with his specific input.

Rhinoplasty with Septoplasty and reduction of nasal dorsal hump, narrowing of nasal bones and establishment of new nasal dorsal aesthetic lines. His bulbous nasal tip was contoured with cartilage reduction and suture techniques, and a small fascial graft was placed on the most superior aspect of the nose to soften the transition between the nose and the forehead. This can be appreciated on his side view. He was ecstatic with his surgical results, exclaiming the nose is exactly as he envisioned. He is 4 weeks post-operative with significant swelling, hence considerable enhancement of the nasal definition and reduction in size can be expected.

Patient is a 27-year-old male who desired a nose that appeared more proportioned with his face. Specifically, he did not like his nasal width and felt that his nasal tip was very bulbous without any definition or projection. He wanted a nose that better complemented his facial features but appeared natural.

Rhinoplasty with narrowing of the nasal bones and nostrils with contouring of nasal tip and reduction of skin thickness. Nasal tip grafts were placed to increase tip projection. He is happy with the result and can anticipate that swelling will continue to subside up to two years after surgery, further reducing his nasal size and enhancing his nasal definition.

61-year-old male who has long been bothered by his nose and wants to look more youthful and attractive as he continues to compete as an executive in a very competitive business atmosphere. Specifically, he wants to correct the midline deviation of his nose, and soften the dorsal hump while making the nasal tip appear more elegant. He wanted a natural and proportioned appearing nose.

Open rhinoplasty with dorsal hump reduction and repair of deviated nasal septum. The nasal tip cartilages were also contoured and a tissue graft was placed at the top of the dorsum to make the nose appear more elegant.

Patient is a 30-year-old male who had a previous septoplasty for septal deviation from an old nasal injury. Currently he has trouble breathing and does not like that his nose appears crooked from the front, and lacks a smooth profile with very poor tip definition. He desires a more handsome and refined nose that appears straight with more angularity.

Rhinoplasty with septoplasty, reduction of dorsal hump and straightening of nasal bones, and placement of cartilage grafts to lengthen and define the nasal tip. Patient was able to breathe well, and was delighted with the appearance of his new nose, and the fact that others could not specifically decipher what was different about his face.

Patient is a 28 year-old male with long-standing nasal deviation and difficulty breathing. He desires a straighter nose with less projection, and a more sculpted nasal tip. He wanted changes to his nose to be subtle, but significant in quality.

Rhinoplasty with septoplasty, take down of mild dorsal hump and contouring of the nasal tip cartilages by both suture and excision techniques. He was able to breathe well from both sides of the nose after surgery, and was delighted with the appearance of his nose. He informed me that people did not mention anything different about his appearance.

Patient is a 39-year-old male who had a long desired to have a more handsome and angular nose with better tip projection. He was bothered by his droopy nasal tip that he noticed in photographs that was accentuated with smiling. He felt that a a more narrow and shorter nose would better complement his facial features.

Rhinoplasty with narrowing of the nasal bones, suture contouring of the nasal tip cartilages, and placement of columellar strut to increase nasal tip projection and support. He was delighted with the subtle but profound changes in his nose both at rest and when smiling.

47-year-old male professional who also models. He is bothered by the wide appearance of the middle of his nose and nasal tip in photographs, and would like subtle changes that make him appear more refined while maintaining his masculine features. He would also like to address the extra skin of his upper eyes and droopy left upper eyelid so that his eyes appear crisper and more symmetric.

Rhinoplasty with refinement of nasal dorsum, repair of deviated nasal septum and sculpting of the nasal tip, with upper blepharoplasty and ptosis repair of left upper eyelid.

32-year-old male who has always desired a more refined nose that appeared to complement his facial features with a straighter dorsum and narrower nasal tip. He is would like more prominent cheekbones to add proportion and balance his long, narrow face.

Rhinoplasty with reduction of nasal dorsum and sculpting of nasal tip. Cheek implants were added to give fullness to the mid-portion of his face and balance his features. The upper third of his face was treated with an endoscopic brow lift and lower blepharoplasty with canthopexy.

52-year-old male who wanted to look younger and more handsome. He wanted to address his long standing dissatisfaction of his weak chin and poorly defined jawline.
