Patient is a 36-year-old female with long-standing desire to improve the appearance of her nose. She felt that her nose looked masculine and unrefined, it was deviated and lacked tip definition. She wanted a softer appearing nose that was straight, feminine, and had a perky tip. She had done extensive research, and supplied numerous examples of the desired outcome she was looking for.
Rhinoplasty with Septoplasty with reduction of nasal dorsum, narrowing of nasal bones with placement of cartilagenous spreader grafts, and suture contouring of nasal tip cartilages. A cartilaginous columellar strut was placed to maintain tip projection. She was ecstatic with her surgical result and found an immense boost of self-confidence that is priceless. Communication between the patient and surgeon is paramount in achieving a successful outcome. Our protocol involves imaging of patient photos with review of patient’s desired outcomes aided with patient supplied photos of noses that they feel are attractive. This combined aesthetic vision is the reason for my consistent patient satisfaction and extremely low surgical revision rate.
