Patient is a 20-year old female with a long-standing desire to have a more defined and feminine appearing nose. She is of rather exotic descent, both Irish and Italian, and embraced her “look” but wanted to refine it. She has very thick skin and understood this affects the definition that is possible with her cosmetic result. Specifically, she wanted to soften her bump while making the entire nose look thinner with better angularity. She felt that her nasal tip and nostrils were too wide, and wanted a “perkier” nasal tip that did not go down when she smiled.
Procedure: Rhinoplasty Septoplasty with reduction of nasal bump and narrowing and contouring of nasal bones to created elegant dorsal aesthetic lines. Due to her very thick skin, cartilage grafts were used to provide internal support to the nasal tip, allowing it to be reshaped, shortened, and rotated in a predictable fashion. Lastly, her nostrils were shortened, rotated, and made more symmetric to complete her nasal surgery. She was ecstatic with her result.
