Patient is a 28-year female who felt that she had long been defined by her nose. She desired a smaller, less projecting nose with a softer profile and more feminine nasal tip. She had long-standing difficulty breathing and would like to improve her airway along with cosmetic enhancements.
Procedure: Rhinoplasty with septoplasty and reduction of nasal bump with lowering the nasal radix (where the nose starts between the eyebrows). The nasal bones were narrowed and contoured creating appropriate dorsal aesthetic lines, with opening of the internal nasal airways to better allow better breathing with reinforcement through placement of cartilaginous grafts. The nasal tip was shortened, rotated and contoured through cartilage removal and suture techniques. Lastly, the nostrils were shortened and reoriented to decrease nostril flare, and make the overall appearance softer and more feminine.
