Patient is an 18-year-old female who is getting ready to move to New York for college and thought it was an appropriate time to address her long-standing dissatisfaction with the appearance of her nose. Specifically, she does not like the bump on her nasal profile or the width of her nasal bones and nasal tip that seems to lack definition and projection. She feels that her nostrils appear too prominent and wide, and would like them to look smaller and more feminine. She knows she is attractive and photogenic, but cannot stop fixating on what she does not like about her nose when she sees photos of herself.
Procedure: Septorhinoplasty with removal of dorsal hump, narrowing of nasal bones with placement of cartilage grafts to increase nasal tip angularity and projection. She also had contouring of nasal tip cartilages through suture techniques and reduction and reorientation of her nostrils. Patient is 6 weeks post surgery and significant increase in definition and elegance will occur over time.
