Patient is a 20-year-old woman who is an active social media influencer and entertainer. She has begun developing a rapidly maturing singing career and would like to get into acting but has always been hampered by confidence issues regarding the appearance of her nose. She feels that her nose is masculine appearing with a bulbous tip that is over-projecting, and is self-conscious of her wide nostrils and lack of tip angularity. She knows she has “strong features” and hence wants a nose that both looks authentic and maintains her unique “look”.
Procedure: Septorhinoplasty with reduction of nasal dorsum and overly projecting nasal tip. The nasal bones and upper lateral cartilages were both straightened and narrowed giving appropriate dorsal aesthetic lines. Simultaneously her nasal tip was narrowed and made more angular with addition of cartilage grafts for support, and her nostrils were narrowed and shortened complementing the rest of her rhinoplasty. She was extremely delighted with her results and claims she feels more confident and beautiful. This new-found confidence has enabled her to take the next step in her career. She interviewed and accepted one of the parts as an actress for the next season of “Euphoria”. Photos are approximately 2 months post-op so there is still significant swelling and further reduction of size and increased definition can be expected.
