Patient is a 23-year-old female who has long desired a nose that appears perkier and more feminine. She remembers how happy her mother was after having a rhinoplasty with Dr. Shapiro about 10 years ago, and how the nose has both appeared more attractive aged appropriately with time. She specifically desires a more delicate tip that is rotated and more defined, with softening and removal of her long-standing dorsal hump.
Procedure: Septorhinoplasty with removal of dorsal bony hump, and narrowing of nasal bones and cartilage to create appropriate dorsal aesthetic lines. Her septal deviation was repaired and cartilage utilized as internal cartilage grafts to both provide long-term support of her new shape, and to use as an internal graft to mobilize and fixate her tip to a more angular and projecting configuration. Tip cartilages were better defined through tip cartilage suture techniques. Photos are approximately 2 months after surgery and the result can be expected to improve over the next 10 months. Successful rhinoplasties require the utmost communication and technical skill to execute a beautiful result. The patient was ecstatic with her result, and her psychological boost increased confidence in herself is the reason that I enjoy performing this operation so much.
