Patient is a 18 year-old female who had two previously unsuccessful rhinoplasties resulting in a large scarred nasal tip that lacks definition and hangs down when she smiles. She feels that her profile is not attractive, and consequently she hates having her picture taken. She does not post on social media because she is self-conscious about her nasal appearance. She desires a model type nose with an angular tip, and more flattering profile.
Procedure: Revision rhinoplasty with placement of internal cartilage grafts to provide support and enable predictable shaping and modification of nasal tip through cartilage reduction and suture techniques. The nasal dorsum was reduced and the top of the nose softened with placement of a fascial graft. Her nostrils shortened to better complement her new nasal contour. She says she is “obsessed with how beautiful her nose is now”.
