Patient is a 66 year-old female who underwent a previous facelift 11 years ago and has noticed progressive loss of neck and jawline definition and diminished facial volume, especially in the cheekbones and midface. She is bothered by the wrinkes around her lower eyes especially when she smiles. Though she was happy with her previous facelift, she was disappointed with the lack of volume it seemed to restore as promised.
Procedure: Deep Plane Facelift with periorbital erbium laser resurfacing.
This particular facelift technique is masterful at restoring midface and cheekbone volume as tissues are elevated in a vertical direction as opposed to the vast majority of other techniques that depend upon skin tension and unnatural pulling to provide results. This imparts the “pulled appearance”., flattens facial features, and does little to provide youthful voluptuousness that is the hallmark of beauty. She is extremely happy with results 4 months post-surgery, and feels beautiful.
