Patient is a 67-year-old female who has developed significant jowls and loss of definition of the neck over the last 5 years. She feels that she appears very unhappy though she is not, and is often asked what’s wrong. When she was younger, she was often complemented on her beautiful jawline and cheekbones, and yearns to recapture her youthful facial proportions that made her feel attractive. She has been apprehensive about getting a facelift as she does not want to appear done.
Facelift with High-SMAS elevation, lateral temporal brow elevation, upper and lower blepharoplasty with softening of muscles between eyebrows, and autogenous fat transfer to the face for a total of 50cc including lower eyes, midface and cheekbones, nasolabial folds, jawline, chin and lips. Notice with the addition of fat transfer, how the patient’s lower face and jawline beautifully balance her brow and eyes. She was ecstatic with her result.
