Breast reduction surgery reduces the size of large breasts to improve a woman’s self-esteem and physical pain and fatigue. While this procedure has a high satisfaction rate, it can produce less-than-desirable results. Patients who are unhappy with the results of a reduction can turn to Dr. Shapiro for a revision procedure.
Recovery from Revision Breast Surgery
Most patients feel sore and swollen for the first few days. The recovery from the revision breast reduction procedure is generally much easier and shorter, however. Most women return to their normal routine within one to two weeks. Dr. Shapiro will prescribe oral pain medication to make the recovery period more comfortable.
You may see a noticeable change after surgery, although swelling for the first week or two may make it difficult to see your final results. During the first two weeks, it is best to sleep with your upper body elevated to relieve pressure on the breasts and reduce swelling.
