Why Renee Zellweger Got Plastic Surgery
Renee Zellweger debuts a fresh new look on the red carpet
By now you’ve seen the photos of actress Renee Zellweger’s new look. The photos of her red carpet appearance at a recent Elle event went viral around the world in a matter of hours causing a social media frenzy. Fans and critics felt Zellweger looked completely different than the Bridget Jones we all remember from the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Dr. Daniel Shapiro, a Scottsdale-based plastic surgeon who has not treated Zellweger appeared on FOX10 news last week to analyze Zellweger’s new look and shared insight into why she might have made this change. Dr. Shapiro observed that Zellweger might have had a blepharoplasty as well as fat transfer to her jawline and midface area. Noticeably gone from her look is her almond shaped eyes. When asked about why she might have decided to make such a dramatic change to her face, Dr. Shapiro opined that it is common for actresses typically typecast into certain roles to adjust their look as they age. Dr. Shapiro feels that Zellweger might have made a calculated decision to adjust her look to fit more mature roles at this point in her career. In a statement to People Magazine, Zellweger said she is addressing the massive social media response because “it seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn’t exist won’t get off my porch until I answer the door.
“I’m glad folks think I look different!” Zellweger continued. “I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows. My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy.”
We think Renee Zellweger is aging with beauty and grace. What do you think?
