Is Preventative BOTOX Right for You?
While the majority of BOTOX® treatments are still performed on more “mature” patients, there is definitely a growing trend in younger patients seeking treatments to prevent the earliest signs of fine lines and crow’s feet.
This begs the question: Can starting BOTOX® at an earlier age be used to prevent wrinkles from occurring?
An increasing number of experts believe the answer is yes. In a study presented at the American Academy of Dermatology’s Annual Meeting, the benefits of getting BOTOX® treatments at a younger age were proven.
In this study, identical twins with like facial anatomies were studied over 13 years starting at the age of 25. One twin received regular BOTOX® treatments, and the other did not. What were the findings? The “treated twin” had no visible wrinkles in her forehead. However, the “untreated twin” did. The results indicated that long-term, consistent treatment may prevent lines visible without facial muscle contraction.
If you haven’t yet experienced the benefits of BOTOX®, you may be wondering if the time is right for you? BOTOX® has proven to have amazing results for our patients, and it remains the most popular cosmetic treatment being performed in the United States. It’s both safe and highly effective for both men and women from the age of 18 on up.
