Cold Weather is the Best Time for Body Surgery
It can be tough trying to fit your plastic surgery into an already hectic life. Between taking time off work, making extra arrangements to manage the household, and working around all the important upcoming occasions, scheduling a procedure can add a whole new stress level. While we canât profess to know whatâs going on in your life, we can give you a helpful suggestion about choosing the best time for a body procedure â late fall to just before spring.
Why is this the best time for body surgery? There are some decided advantages to having a procedure while itâs cold out.
For one thing, life tends to slow down during the cold months. Everyone is trying to stay warm by avoiding the outdoors as much as possible. A lot of major events like weddings and graduations take place in the spring and summer time. Vacations typically happen when its warm out so people can take advantage of the nice weather. With the exception of the holidays, people tend to hunker down inside their homes during the winter months. This means that it will be easier for you to avoid conflicting with any major events or occasions when youâre scheduling your surgery. Taking vacation or sick time will also be much easier than it would be if you tried to take it when the weather is warmer.
Colder weather also means more clothing that hides most of your body. People arenât as keen to bare themselves while itâs freezing outside, which means that you will be able to wear clothes that conceal the fact that youâre recovering from surgery. This is also a bonus because you are not going to want to wear tight-fitting clothes following your procedure. Recovery is all about comfort and relaxation, which is hard to get in skinny jeans. Loose, baggy clothes will be your go-to wardrobe while your body heals. Cold weather is the perfect time to break those out.
Winter also means that there is less sun, reducing your risk of over-exposure to UV rays. Your skin is particularly susceptible to damage or injury immediately following surgery, so it will be very important for you to take care of yourself. This is easier to do in the winter because youâll already be wearing clothes big enough to cover up your whole body and the amount of sun youâll be exposed to will be significantly reduced.
