The accumulation of back fat can detract from the overall attractiveness of a person’s body. In women, this area is especially accentuated because of the constriction created while wearing bra, causing “bra bulge.” In men, extra back fat can contribute to the look of top-heaviness, blurring the sculpted look of the frame. Though liposuction procedures have long been used to treat fatty areas of the body, the less-invasive technique of Vaser Hi Def Liposculpture can remove fat from specific areas of the back. Dr. Shapiro is the first—and only—surgeon in the state of Arizona who has been trained to perform this exclusive technique.
Removing Back Fat through Vaser Hi Def Back Liposculpture
From a surgical standpoint, the back can be separated into five different areas. The Buffalo Hump is the area of fat in the back directly below the neck, while the Posterior Auxiliary Fat pad is found below this section, though closer to the underarm. The Infra-Scapular Fat is also termed “female flanks” as it is located where a bra strap rests, higher than the waistline but lower than the shoulder blade. Posterior Waist Fat is found just above the hips, and the Sacral Fat Pad is located in the lower back above the buttocks. Vaser Hi Def Back Liposculpture allows Dr. Shapiro to target the specific areas of fat that detract from a patient’s physique. Beginning with a simple injection of a numbing agent that constricts local blood vessels and slightly swells the area to promote fat separation, a small cannula removes the extra fat. Because the fat has been liquefied in the body through this technology, crucial tissues such as nerves and blood vessels are left unharmed. Vaser Hi Def Liposculpture of the back may be performed in conjunction with fat removal from other areas of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs. Often, more than one area of the body collects excess fatty deposits that can be targeted with this type of surgery. Hi Def Lipo is not as invasive a procedure as traditional liposuction surgery, but still removes pounds of unwanted fat from the body both safely and effectively.
