What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting® is a revolutionary fat reduction procedure that is non-invasive, and requires no dieting and no exercise. This FDA cleared treatment is a state of the art method that rids the body of resistant fat that diet and exercise have failed to remove. It is fantastic for stubborn muffin tops, thigh bulges, spare tires, and stubborn back fat.
How does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting was developed by Harvard Scientists and is a clinically proven procedure with thousands of satisfied patients. Coolsculpting freezes fat by using vacuum pressure to pull targeted areas between cooling plates. The frozen fat cells then begin a process called cryolipolysis which kills off fat cells with no damage to the overlying skin. This breakdown of the fat cells is complete over a period of 2 to 4 months, during and after you will see a reduction in the size of the treated areas. There are no needles, no lasers, and you can watch TV, be on your laptop, or listen to music during the procedure. After the treatment, you can return to normal activities.
Where can CoolSculpting be performed?
CoolSculpting is great for the following areas:
- Love handles (muffin tops)
- Upper and Lower Abdomen
- Bra fat (back fat)
- Inner and Outer Thighs
- Upper Arms
How long is the procedure and how many will I need?
CoolSculpting is performed in “cycles” with each cycle taking an hour and covering one area. 60 minutes is required for the tissue to reach the correct temperature to cause the fat to freeze. Typically, separate cycles are needed for the upper and lower abdomen (each an hour) and each flank requires separate hour cycles.
When will I see a change?
You can expect to see the full results in approximately 4 months as the body’s process of removing the fat is gradual and accomplished over time.
Does CoolSculpting hurt when it’s performed?
The initial few minutes of the process can be slightly uncomfortable, but people do not require relaxation or pain medication. Within about 5 minutes the discomfort will subside and you will easily be able to talk on the phone, read, use your computer, or watch TV. Following treatment you may experience short temporary redness, bruising, or mild discomfort in the treated areas that quickly resolves.
Who is a good candidate for CoolSculpting?
You should be in good health, at a stable weight and have areas of fat that have proven hard to get rid of. Many CoolSculpting patients find that their results have given them incentive to begin new habits with diet and exercise that have resulted in further weight loss and enhanced self esteem.
